IN THE MIX

It's been a month since the concert, but I still haven't moved on from its awesomeness... Also, I have this feeling that this blog post will be my longest... as of now. *laughs*

Let's start with the fact that this is my first major concert I've attended in my life, but it's not the first one. The very first concert I went to was Wanderland 2016 last March 5, and it was an awesome experience. Too bad I didn't blog about it since I was lazy AF at that time. Smh. Anyway, In The Mix consisted of 6 international acts which were The 1975, James Bay, Panic! At The Disco, Third Eye Blind, Elle King, and Twin Pines. Honestly, the main reason why I watched this concert was because of The 1975. I told myself I won't miss another chance to watch them live. When they had their first concert here in the Philippines, I was so disappointed with myself for not going. I can't believe I didn't go, and until this day, I still regret it. So I was 100% sure and decided that I was going to watch this concert no matter what happens. I wanted to go with the moshpit because I'm dying to see Matty up close in personal, but my concert buddy was not willing to spend that much money for a concert ticket, so we ended up taking the lower box, and honestly it wasn't that bad. Obviously, it was not as close if I were in the moshpit, but good enough to see the performer. I was really excited for the concert. I even both the tickets on the first day of VISA pre-sale because I was afraid that I won't get the best seats, but thanks to the very nice SA for helping me out and being so accommodating. When I got the tickets, I can't stop myself from staring at it for like hours. I even sent a picture of the concert tickets to Matty's Snapchat, hoping I'll get a response from him and of course, I got nothing. Silly me. I just can't believe I'm finally going to see him in person.

On the day of the concert, I was feeling very ecstatic. When we were walking towards the building, I can't stop myself from smiling, giggling, and making unnecessary movements. If you saw me that time, you'll definitely laugh at me because I looked like a mad lady with a crazy-wide-Joker-smile on my face. Upon entering, I got bummed out by the security because they kept insisting that my backpack was way too big, so I need to carry my important things by hand, which was so inconvenient. Instead of stressing about it, I immediately let it go and kept my cool on. When we were inside the building, I felt so good and relieved because of the positive vibes everyone had. They all looked so happy, and pumped up. Most of the people were wearing merch and band shirts, and when I saw them with black outfits, I've automatically smiled because I felt like I belong. Who doesn't like to feel that way, right? The very first thing I looked for was the merch being sold because I need to have a The 1975 shirt. I was not leaving the venue without any merch to be brought home with me! When I found out that The 1975 had two shirt designs on sale, I freaked out because it was a tough decision. Of course, I had to buy the In The Mix shirt, no doubt about it, so it was between the two The 1975 shirts, I was going to buy the black one but when I was in the cashier counter, I was like, "Daaamn I need the white shirt, too. What the heck, I'm getting both!". So.... yes I got both of the The 1975 shirts because I need to have them in my life.

As we entered inside the concert grounds, I felt so emotional like I wanted to cry happy tears because I was a few hours away from seeing The 1975 live. The atmosphere inside was so cold yet energizing. Everyone was waiting and some even started screaming when the lights slowly dimmed, and I've happily joined them even though I'm not sure what was going on. *laughs* It was fun to be carried away by other people's excitement.

The first act was The Twin Pines. It was the first time I heard of them. I have to say their songs were good. I love how some of them made me dance. Plus, I find them so cute and their accent is adorable! Currently, my favorite song from their set is the Young Heart. The second act was Elle King. I have to say her voice was freaking amazing. It was the first time I heard of her too, but I've listened to few of her songs since I was listening to the In The Mix playlist on Spotify a few days before the concert. I like her Ex's & Oh's and Last Damn Night. The third act was Third Eye Blind. I only knew one of their songs and it was the Semi-Charmed Life. When they played it, I felt alive because finally I heard a song that I knew! After watching them perform live, I started liking a few of their songs. Some of my recent favorites from them are How's It Going To Be, Jumper, Dopamine, and Never Let You Go. The forth act was Panic! At The Disco. It was so crazy insane how people started screaming when they saw their drum set and piano on stage. Someone even said it was the first time he saw that the instruments had so many screaming fans. I was screaming with the crowd too. It was so funny yet exciting! I remembered back when I was in high school, they were one of my favorite bands. My favorite songs from them back then were Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off, But It's Better If You Go, I Write Sins Not Tragedies, and I Constantly Thank God For Esteban. When they started playing, I was instantly hooked by how good they performed live. It was like sharing the same energy they had while performing. Brendon Urie was so freaking hot on stage. The way he sang and danced was captivating. I totally fell in love with him that night. Seeing him do his iconic backflip live was AMAZING. He was definitely the life of the party! Right now, I'm obsessed with all of their songs. Daaaang, so happy I got to see them perform live. The fifth act was James Bay. He was such a cutie with that long hair, and his voice will make you fall in love with him over and over again! Let It Go is my number 1 favorite song of him. Whenever I listen to that song, it gives me major chills and feels. Lastly and definitely not the least, the sixth act was The 1975. This was the part of the concert where I lost all my chill and cool. While their instruments were being arranged on stage, I can't stop myself from screaming. I just can't! And when the lights started changing and I saw Matty walking on stage, that was it for me! I went full on mental, I was screaming my heart out like there was no tomorrow. When I saw all of them on stage, my hands were shaking, my body felt cold inside and outside, I kept screaming like a crazy person, I want to cry happy emotional tears, I felt like my soul was brought to heaven and back, I was singing my lungs out and due to strong emotions I was feeling that time, the lyrics from my mouth started to change into something I didn't even know, and I felt like I was experiencing every emotions possible in that moment. In short, I was going totally highkey INSANE. But it was definitely the best thing ever. It was a moment that I don't want to end. Matty was and will always be EVERYTHING. I still can't believe I finally saw him. It was definitely a dream come true for me.

AUGUST 18, 2016 WAS DEFINITELY THE BEST FREAKING NIGHT OF MY LIFE SO FAR.

Did you watched the concert? Who was your favorite act?
