When we arrived in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, our first agenda was to go to the Underground River before heading to El Nido, Palawan. According to Wikipedia, it was chosen as one of the New7Wonders of Nature. Knowing that information made me excited and wonder what I would see there. I think it took us around 2 hours or even more to get there from the airport, and then we rode a boat to get to the island. Upon arrival, there were a few people taking pictures and wandering around. I really liked that we had to walk around the forest-looking surrounding and into those wooden path inside the island to reach the river. The vibe was so relaxing because it felt peaceful even though there were people around. When we reached the shore near the cave, there were a lot of people waiting for their turn. Good thing, our tour guide made a way for us not to be able to wait much longer than we should. Since we were only three persons, we shared the boat with these men who looked like they were working in the army or police force. They were good company which was great. Our tour guide inside the cave was very entertaining which made the experience even more memorable. He was very funny and had good punchlines that I personally enjoyed. I ended up listening to him more than the audio guide they had provided us. He was very informative too. I'll definitely give him 5/5 stars. Too bad I can't remember his name anymore, but he was really good at his job.
Inside the cave, it felt cold and a bit scary because it was really dark and the water was too deep. Thinking about it, I feel like I can't do the tour all by myself. *laughs*
Looking at the bats gave me creeps, to be honest. There were so many of them hanging from the cave ceiling. I remember the tour guide telling us not to open our mouths whenever we look above because we'll never know if it's water from the falls above or bat's urine. It was really funny yet true. Also, it smelled funky due to the bat's waste being trapped inside the cave. There were so many different kinds of rock formation and surprisingly, I thought it was really cool, artistic, and unbelievable. I still can't believe that some of it looked like figures and objects I can picture out. As I remembered, there were fruits, vegetables, persons, The Last Supper, Mama Mary, and a lot more.

After our exploration in the Underground River, we headed back to the main land and had lunch in the resto near the area. Food was okay and I can't believe I ate tamilok. It looks like a worm, but according to the lady we had a brief conversation about it, it's a mollusk found in mangroves. When I ate it, it was cold and tasted like sea water. I still can't believe I ate it. Oh well, things I do for love... *laughs* And the dog in the resto was so cute and disciplined. Kudos to the owner for having his or her dog be trained like that.
It was definitely a one of a kind, amazing, and interesting experience. No wonder it was one of the 7NewWonders of Nature. I highly recommend it to everyone. You should definitely add it to your bucket list and check it out. When you see and experience it, you will appreciate the beauty of Mother Nature even more. It was totally worth it.
